HERBACEOUS & PERENNIAL

HERBACEOUS & PERENNIAL

Perennial Plants provide flowers in your garden year after year. They tend to be planted together to create herbaceous and mixed borders, which peak in interest in Summer and Early Autumn. They provide outstanding colour and texture to a garden, never failing to impress with their variety. Widely used in gardens, they are easy to care for, which is always a big hit with gardeners of all kinds.

WHERE DO I PLANT?

Perennials can grow in any situation in a garden, whether it’s shady or sunny, wet or dry soil, a suitable plant is always available. However, you need to choose the correct plant for the location, as they will not thrive without the right conditions. When purchasing one of these beauty’s, be sure to ask which plant is best suited to your garden conditions.

Plants such as these will always thrive better if you take the time and attention during planting time.

WHEN TO PLANT?

They are best planted during the Springtime, somewhere around March to early May and in the Autumn, somewhere around late September to October, when the ground is moist. Container grown Perennials can be grown all year round, but you must keep them well watered during dry weather.

MAINTENANCE

Herbaceous Perennials generally need minimal maintenance if you have chosen the right conditions for your plant. It’s always good to keep weeds under control, not only are they a mess, they will compete with the plant for food etc.

When purchasing your plant, be sure to ask the best maintenance tips and tricks for that specific plant..they all like different things!
